Brockway Gatehouse - Our Services

Welcome to our services and pricing page. We know what you’re thinking.

What can Brockway Gatehouse do for ME and how much will it cost?

Keep reading to find out how Brockway Gatehouse Literary Services can help you on your writing journey.

Are you an independent author? Have you finished the final draft of your manuscript and want to test the reception with readers before you publish your work?

If the answer is “Yes,” we’d love to be your critique partner and beta read your manuscript.

Many authors send their manuscript off for beta reading – also known as a critique – so that they can gain some feedback from their target audience; ensuring that their book is well suited for readers, is conveying the right message and is enjoyable, before they move on to final polishing or publishing.

Share your manuscript with us and we will provide you with feedback on your book and let you know which elements we loved and which we thought could be improved, and how.

We offer a range of Beta Reader Services at different levels. A manuscript critique might be just what you need at this point in your writing journey.

Guideline for Pricing:

£2-£4 ($2.50-$5) per 1,000 words

Editing Services

There is a great deal of confusion about what an editor does and how that differs from the job of a proofreader. Many people blur the roles of proofreaders and copy editors these days, and that is OK. However, the roles are usually kept separate within the publishing industry.

Put simply, the difference between the roles is:

  • The proofreader corrects.
  • The copy editor revises and corrects.

We offer both a proofreading service and a copy editing service. We are happy to discuss your individual needs.

Guideline for Pricing:

Proofread £5-£10 ($8-$12) per 1,000 words

Copy Edit £10-£15 ($12-$18) per 1,000 words
